What are "schedules"?

"Schedules" generally correspond to appointment types: they determine what times your customers are allowed to self-schedule appointments for, and during what time frames they're allowed to schedule, cancel, and reschedule their own appointments.

For example, a doctor might have three schedules - one for consultations that take 15 minutes and allows scheduling anytime in the morning, one for physicals with 30 minute schedule blocks in the afternoon, and one for emergency consultations, with a couple of 15 minute time blocks in the morning which don't become available to patients to schedule until the night before.

Each service provider has their own set of schedules. Keep that in mind when looking at the service plans - the "Better" plan allows 15 schedules for 3 providers, so 5 schedules each, or 9 for one and 3 for each of the others, or some other combination that adds up to 15 or less.

Why is there no free plan?

There is a one-month free trial on accounts, but there is no totally free plan because operating and improving this site is real work, and there are no ads. If you think about it, most free options aren't really free - there is almost always a catch, whether it comes in the form of annoying advertising, very strict limits on what you can actually do with a requirement to upgrade if you want fairly standard features, or something else that you won't notice until you've signed up and setup your account. With AppointmentPlease, you get billed a small amount every month based on the plan you sign up for, and that's it - you don't have to worry about your customers being shown ads, or about missing standard features that you need in order to do your job.

How does the free trial work?

We bill your credit card automatically at the beginning of each month of service for the following month, but we don't bill the first time. If you cancel before the beginning of the following month, you will never be billed.

How does payment work?

There are no credit card details required at signup - you just enter a bit about your business, and you're on your way. From that point, you have a month to decide whether you like the service enough to enter a credit card and pay for the following month.

Can I change plans after I sign up?

Yep, it's very easy to upgrade or downgrade your plan. Simply go to the "My Account" section of your administration site, select the new plan, and you'll be billed at that rate the following month. You'll be granted the capabilities of the new plan immediately, however.

Is it easy to cancel?

It is very easy to cancel your service - it's actually easier than signing up. From the Administrative Home screen, it takes 3 clicks. Just go to the "My Account" section of your administration site, and near the bottom you'll see a link that takes you to a cancellation confirmation page. If you click the button in there, your service will immediately be canceled, and all data deleted. We hope to have some sort of export data to Excel or CSV functionality ready soon, as well.
